Dressing mom is almost as important as finding that perfect dream gown for you.  She has even pictured how she will look on your big day. But finding mom the perfect dress can be an exhausting search.  With styles that are often found to be too old or too young ~ we are sharing our tips on finding the Goldilocks of Mother of the bride dresses.  Don’t forget to check out our selection of perfect for mom dresses by clicking here

In the last few years we have thrown out the rule book on what colors/length mom should wear.  We are finding today’s moms are wearing cocktail, tea length, midi length and floor length. With colors ranging from neutral, champagnes to bright pops of color and yes even black.    The sky is the limit.  If you want mom to stand out – put her in the opposite of what the girls are wearing.  Meaning if they are in a neutral shade like navy then give mom either a pop of color or a light pastel.   Mom’s should feel comfortable in the color and length that she chooses to wear.

But what if the Bridal Store Doesn’t Carry A “Mother Line”?

We love getting asked this question!  At Lockhart’s we don’t carry a traditional “mom line”  because we don’t believe that mom’s need to look traditional!  We carry two formal wear lines with a wide variety of shapes and lengths – and what feels like endless color options!  Choosing from lace to the super soft and comfortable jersey dresses.  Satins to chiffons we have have you covered.  Click here to book your private Mother of the wedding consultation.
