Quick Guide to Your Wedding Day Lingerie
Oh la la. There are so many options on what to wear beneath the dress. We are here to help you understand the different types of bridal undergarments and help you choose the one that’s right for you. Let’s face it, what you wear beneath the dress is just as important as the dress itself. The wrong undergarments under the right dress can make for unflattering photos and memories of your special day.
Corsets tend to be the top undergarment that everyone thinks of when planning their wedding day look. They provide the bride with the most support of all the undergarments that we are showcasing here. However they aren’t the only choice and not always the right one for today’s gowns. So what is the perfect gown to wear this type of undergarment with? We suggest pairing corsets with heavier satin & structured lace gowns. With these types of gowns you will be less likely see any of the boning and heavy seams that tend to be on the corsets.
Raise your hand if you love Spanx as much as we do!!! They are hands down the best type of undergarment for ALL gowns types and fabrics. Not only do they smooth out any area that we feel need but they are virtually seamless so you can wear them under the lightest of satin, chiffon or lace gowns. Bandeau bras, tummy sucker, thigh hider, shorts & briefs – with so many to choose from you will be able to create your icing on (or under) your perfect wedding day attire.
With so many types of bras how do you choose? Basic strapless bras are a perfect undergarment for gowns that have more of a traditional neck and back line made out of solid materials. Adhesive bras are perfect for plunging necks and back made out of sheer material. And is it ever ok to go without a bra? If the gown you have chosen has a built in corset – either with an interior lace up or with hooks then you can forgo a bustier or bra.
